Batouwe at Four Oaks 2024: Strong connections on British soil
In September 2024, Batouwe participated in the Four Oaks Trade Show in England – a well-known international trade fair for the horticulture sector. This event, held on the grounds of a Cash & Carry in Cheshire, attracts thousands of industry visitors from both home and abroad every year. For Batouwe, it was an excellent opportunity to strengthen our presence in the British market.
A trade fair with a personal atmosphere
Four Oaks is known for its accessible character and direct, personal atmosphere. Despite its international appeal, it feels like a small-scale fair where genuine conversations take place. For Batouwe, this was the perfect setting to present our plants and our story to an interested and knowledgeable audience.
Visitors ranged from growers and garden centers to landscape architects and buyers for large green projects. What connects them all is their eye for quality – something Batouwe is committed to every day.
What Batouwe showcased
At our stand, the emphasis was on our strong, uniformly grown plants and the reliability of our deliveries. With a carefully selected assortment, we gave visitors a clear impression of our range and working methods. Sustainability and quality – two important core values of our company – also clearly came through in the conversations.
There was much interest in how we, as a Dutch grower, collaborate with buyers in the United Kingdom. Especially in these times, building and maintaining good relationships is crucial. Think of stricter phytosanitary inspections and ever-changing import regulations. However, Batouwe is not deterred by this. On the contrary: over the past years, we have continually adapted quickly and flexibly to new regulations. This ensures our deliveries to the UK are reliable, safe, and compliant. Our customers appreciate this, relying on our expertise and dedication. The trade show provided an excellent platform to actively work on this.
New Opportunities and familiar faces
Participation at Four Oaks led to valuable meetings with existing customers as well as new contacts that show great potential for the future. What stood out was the openness of the conversations and the willingness to explore long-term cooperation together. For Batouwe, this is exactly what a trade show visit is about.
Additionally, it gave us insights into developments within the British market and the desires and expectations of customers. We will take that knowledge with us in our ongoing business operations.
